About
Built by biomed, for biomed
TESSA exists because the hardest part of biomedical equipment service is not the repair. It is everything that happens after the repair — the write-up, the serial number you forgot to photograph, the report that sits half-finished until the end of the week.
Why we built it
Technicians are trained to fix complex, safety-critical equipment. Then they spend a meaningful part of every week retyping the same paragraphs into templates that were designed for a desktop and a keyboard. That work is real, it matters for compliance, and almost nobody has built a tool for the person actually doing it. Existing platforms are procurement and asset systems that treat field documentation as a data-entry chore at the end of the chain.
We started from the other direction. TESSA was designed around a phone, one hand free, standing in front of a device — scan the label, log what you found, and let the report write itself before you leave the room.
What we believe
The tech comes first
If the person in the field will not use it, nothing downstream matters. Every design decision starts there.
AI assists, people decide
TESSA drafts; the technician reviews, edits, and signs off. We are explicit that AI output must be verified by qualified personnel.
Free where it should be free
Individual technicians should not have to expense a tool to do their paperwork. Field Notes is free forever.
Documentation is a record, not a formality
Service history should be searchable by serial number and useful the next time someone touches that device.
What we make
TESSA Field Notes is our free mobile service reporting tool for biomedical and field service technicians — label scanning, smart compliance questions, AI-written reports, device history, and branded PDF export. TESSA Operations is our service management platform for organizations that need scheduling, oversight, and analytics on top of that documentation layer.
Get in touch
We read everything. Feature requests, bugs, or a workflow we got wrong — email support@tessabiomed.com. TESSA is built with direct input from working technicians, and that is how we want to keep it.
